L'accord concernant la promotion et la protection réciproque des investissements de 2009 entre la Suisse et la Chine, entré en vigueur le 13 avril 2010, correspond aux standards internationaux et ouvre en particulier la possibilité de porter le litige devant un tribunal arbitral en cas de conflit entre des investisseurs et un Etat.
