The strategy of simulating cyber incidents and training their subsequent handling is gaining increasing importance, as hands-on exercises are seen to be a vital part in developing practical skills under stress and external influences. Thus, on a technical level, these exercises have reached a good level of professionalism. Still, typical scenarios focus on the technical aspects, while legal issues are only considered as sub-topic at the side. With respect to the rising importance of legal matters in IT, this needs to be addressed. In this work we discuss, how use the method of conducting cyber exercises for training the legal aspects of cyber incidents.
